Formed by students, for students, we actively foster the Surgical Specialities
Throughout the year we hold events to inspire a career in surgery, which in the past have ranged from the Scrubs Party during Freshers' Fortnight to the exciting talks and workshops held by world renowned surgeons
Each year we organise the National Undergraduate Surgical Conference in the heart of London on UCL Campus - the first and the biggest conference of its kind in the UK. With its World Leading Surgeons, such Prof. Nagy Habib and Mr Nadey Hakim, it attracts international delegates
A Message from our President
Welcome to the UCL Surgical Society!
Our aim is to inspire, nurture and hone interest in surgery by providing a platform for students at UCL to access opportunities to develop their skills and understanding. Whether you are already keen on a career surgery or are simply curious about the field, there is something for you and best of all you do not have to be a medic to make use of the opportunities available.
We have a full timetable of events for 2017 -2018, which includes career and inspirational talks, workshops and skills courses. Have a look at the events section!
Our flagship event, National Undergraduate & Foundation Surgical Conference (NUGSC), continues to raise the bar and is sure not to disappoint this year. With a variety interesting hands-on workshops and inspirational speakers, all at a top university it is an event not to be missed. Check out the NUGSC website for further information!
Finally, UCL Surgical Society recognises that surgery has not always been an equal playing field for women and minorities. Therefore, we are committed to spreading the message that surgery is a viable career option for anyone who has the capabilities of being a surgeon.
